Abstract: It is noted in the paper the negative environmental impact of fires, products of combustion and extinguishing agents. The effect of various groups of powder compositions used for extinguishing the fire of classes A, B, C, D on the aquatic environment has been studied in more detailed way. It is noted the predominantly major ecological- and- toxic effect on aquatic ecosystems of the powder compounds of the phosphate-ammonium group and the least effect of the chloride group. The ingress of powder agents means an additional factor in the deterioration of the quality of natural waters. When assessing the impact of dry powder extinguishing agents on water bodies, the number of chemicals that enter the water should be considered. When assessing the impact of fire extinguishing dry powders on aquatic environment, it is necessary to specify the TDS and pH of nearby water bodies in each case.
