Abstract

Determination of the impact of hostilities on the state of the environment requires detailed research on the quality of environmental components, the extent of the use of military equipment, emergency incidents at industrial enterprises and infrastructure facilities, fires and other accidents. Based on the monitoring data of the OSCE in Ukraine, heavy metal contamination in the soil is assessed by the new method. The ranking of researched areas by the value of heavy metal contamination in the soil (ISHM) showed that the territories of the Sloviansk TV and radio station and Luhansk TPP are in the most dangerous condition. Assessment of the hazard level of heavy metal contamination in the soil by the proposed method will allow to make a scientifically substantiated decision on the priority of implementation of environmental measures.This will increase the level of environmental safety
