Теоретико-методологічні засади використання арт-терапії для психологічної реабілітації учасників бойових дій

Abstract

The paper showcases the importance of the chosen research area amidst growing number of combatants in eastern Ukraine and their families who require holistic, high quality and high efficiency correctional psychological help during and after the time in military service. The authors defined distinctive features of psychoemotional state for combatants participants, the features causing a need for holistic psychological correctional help. Art therapy is stated to be one of the most efficient tools of rehabilitation. The paper defines art therapy and explains the essence of the method. Main tasks and types of art therapy are described, such as visual art practices, chromotherapy, dance therapy, drama therapy, creative writing, fairytale therapy, music therapy, sand play therapy. Distinctive aspects of art therapy influence on psychoemotional state of combatants participants are outlined. The role of the psychologist in art therapy sessions is addressed. Peculiarities of a designated correctional program, developed specifically for combatants participants, are featured. Components that include art therapy program are listed. Basic constructs of art therapy practice are outlined. Advantages of art therapy for psychosocial renewal of personality in emotionally burned out combatants are defined. The article draws on scientific publications in the research area, as well as on the experience of practicing psychologists who work with combatants participants. Theoretical and practical importance of the paper is determined by the current insufficient scientific and empirical basis of art therapy help for combatants participants. The authors’ scientific results may be considered as groundwork for further constructive research of the defined area.
