Abstract: | Although distance learning has become an essential part of everyday life for most students during the quarantine, there is little evidence about its effectiveness among Ukrainian students. The aim of the research is to estimate the effectiveness of the current distance learning process in Ukrainian higher education institutions; to outline the types of distance learning offered; to highlight the negative and positive aspects of the introduction of distance learning; to describe the prospects and approaches to solving the problems of distance learning in universities. The study aimed to collect data on students' attitudes and needs for distance learning during the quarantine through the online survey - Covid-19 Distance Learning Questionnaire , which involved 540 participants. The prerequisites for the development of distance learning in Ukraine are considered. The results reveal the most used distance learning tools, duration of learning, types of leisure activities, readiness of participants in the educational process for distance learning, factors affecting distance learning (skills, internet speed, emotions), etc. The results obtained from the research can be provided to government agencies, educational institutions and other interested parties to further improve the distance learning process. |
