Abstract: One of the main directions of improving the efficiency of unmanned aerial vehicle is increase the reliability and fault tolerance of its operation. The initial calculation of reliability indicators during the design of unmanned aerial vehicles is the first step to improve reliability indicators. Reliability calculation methods, which use an exponential distribution as a mathematical model of reliability, lead to estimates that differ significantly from the actual values of reliability indicators. In this work, a technique is proposed for the engineering calculation of the probability of failure-free operation of unmanned aerial vehicle based on mathematical models of failure-free operation of its functional systems. It is proposed to use a diffuse nonmonotonic distribution as a mathematical model of failure-free systems consisting of electronic components, and it is proposed to use the exponential distribution and Weibul distribution as a model of failure-free operation of various electric motor units. Based on the test sample, a comparative analysis of the results of calculating the mean time to failure for various mathematical models of failure-free operation was carried out.
