Abstract: The article considers the possibility of involving in the technological production of commercial greases, secondary polymeric raw materials represented by such polyolefins as high and low density polyethylene (LDPE and HDPE) and polypropylene (PP). The results of laboratory studies of the obtained greases samples are presented. On the basis of the obtained results, a scheme for the production of greases is proposed, in which the stage of dispersion of components is realised by boiling the polymer in the base oil. The proposed scheme makes it possible to reduce the degree of grinding of polymer raw materials, which reduces energy consumption and the duration of preliminary preparation of the polymer thickener.
