Abstract: Based on the results of the research, the authors developed an organizational and technical method of preventing an emergency situation of a man-made nature due to the presence of harmful (polluting) substances in drinking water in excess of the maximum permissible concentration in the territory that suffered missile and artillery damage, where groundwater is the source of drinking water supply. The authors developed a mathematical model that describes the danger of groundwater. The mathematical model is the basis of the specified method. It is a system of four analytical dependencies. These dependencies describe the processes of determining the area of groundwater intake, determining the area of missile and artillery damage, determining the area of influence of harmful (polluting) substances, and allows choosing an effective concept of organizing groundwater monitoring in the territory that has suffered missile and artillery damage. The authors developed an algorithm and described the procedures for the implementation of the organizational and technical method of preventing an emergency situation of a man-made nature in the territory that was hit by missile and artillery attacks. The procedures included the collection and analysis of statistical data; determination of priority monitoring areas; definition of goals by types of dangers; setting tasks; choosing a monitoring scheme; selection of monitoring characteristics; resolution of monitoring issues; conducting monitoring; making management decisions to limit the spread of the consequences of danger.
