Abstract: This article presents an idea of biomass compression that causes corrosive and abrasive wear on screw presses (sunflower husk, sawdust and straw). The present method allows determining the force of friction and wear rate of prototypes. The authors of the article designed some corrosive and abrasive environment where screw and extruder die (screw press) work for production of biomass briquettes. The article contains a tribology compatibility rating of materials for the manufacture of operating elements.
