Abstract: The article examines the peculiarities of the translation of anatomical anthropomorphic and zoomorphic terms-metaphors on the material of Latin, English and Ukrainian languages. Binary terms such as handle of the sternum, body of the vertebra, tongue of the bladder, temporal horn, etc. have been studied. As a modifier in anatomical medical terms of this type, the names of body parts of people and animals are usually used. A typical variant for emergence is external similarity and functional similarity, a metaphorical word is used for translation, which has the same character of imagery.
