Abstract: The article addresses the urgent problem of organizing search and rescue operations in areas destroyed by hostilities, including missile, artillery, and drone strikes. Amid the ongoing war against Ukraine, rescuers from the State Emergency Service (SES) often face situations where people are trapped under the debris of residential buildings after enemy attacks. One of the most dangerous challenges is repeated strikes targeting emergency crews and their equipment, forcing them to suspend operations and seek shelter. This interruption critically reduces the efficiency of rescuers during the first hours after destruction when the chances of saving lives are highest. The paper proposes the use of unmanned aerial and ground systems equipped with acoustic sensors (geophones) to continue search operations from protected locations, even under the threat of renewed attacks. These systems can detect signs of human presence - such as calls for help, movement, or heartbeats - across large areas without endangering rescue personnel. The application of such technology significantly improves the accuracy and speed of locating trapped individuals and enhances coordination for subsequent rescue efforts. Moreover, the implementation of acoustic drone systems has potential in the military domain. They can be employed to detect enemy infantry hidden in shelters and fortifications, locate buried or unconscious Ukrainian soldiers, and assist in remote evacuation using robotic platforms. Such innovations can minimize risks for service members, optimize tactical operations, and expand the capabilities of modern search and rescue technology. The integration of unmanned acoustic systems represents an advanced and promising direction for both the SES of Ukraine and the Armed Forces, combining technological progress with life-saving effectiveness.
